Sheep

Happy Monday!  I am so excited to be a part of the You Make February Fabulous promo with The Angel Company - and I thank TAC from the bottom of my heart for picking me to participate.  It has been an amazing month so far with all the specTACular designers - I hope you have been inspired as much as I have!

The stamp set that I chose (with a little help from Mischelle!) is T3150 Spring Friends.  It is a fun and playful stamp set - that can serve your creations thru the whole year and not just spring!  The best part is that it is on SALE for just $14.96 thru the end of February (Regularl retail value $19.95)

For my first card I went really simple and fun stamping and cutting out the jumping sheep image.

Supplies:  T3150 Spring Friends, T2944 Spring Time, R2049 Easter Blessings, Copic Markers, LillyAnna Collection - cardstock and pattern paper, Polo Mini Blossoms, Clear Circle Brads, Mementos Tuxedo Black ink, Cloud White VersaMagic Ink

I colored the sheep with my copic markers - I used R81 and 0 for the cheeks and just a touch of T2 around the edges for some depth in his fur.  I like to lay down the color and then go along the edge of it with my 0 colorless blender to soften the edge.

Sheep-detail
I tore a piece of LillyAnna pattern paper for the grass/ground and I stamped the clouds using a tree folliage image from the Springtime stamp set.  Makes a cute little happy card don't ya think?  I got the greeting from the Easter Blessings stamp set - and I accented my sentiment strip with the clear crystal brads and a little mini blossom.  Gots to have me some bling on there!

I got a little more ambitious with my second card - and actually this was the first concept that I had when I saw this set.  Finger Puppets!  :-)  So I made a card with a pocket to hold them on the front.  Here is the card with all my spring friends inside:

Puppet-card
Supplies:  T3150 Spring FriendsT1186 Tag Tidbits, Copic Markers, LillyAnna Collection - cardstock and pattern paper, Extra Jumbo Flower Punch, Green Scrappers Floss, Acetate, 1/8"Scor-tape, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, VersaMark Ink, Stylus

Puppets-and-card
I colored the puppets the same way as the first card - laying the color down then blending and softening the edge with the colorless blender.

***Copic Combos***
Sheep:  T2, 0
Cheeks: R81, 0
Shirt and skirt:  B91, B95, R81, R85
Chick: Y11, Y21, YR65

I made the pocket to have a little accordian edge so you can tuck more than just one into the pocket.

The flower punch has a little added dimension - which I did by snipping in between each petal and then using my stylus on the back of each petal area and embossing a circle on each.  Then you can manipulate then a little to have the shape of a petal and some depth.

Puppet-flwr
Each puppet friend has its own little finger holder - which I made out of scrap strips of acetate.  I put a piece of foam tape on the back of each friend, then when the receiver of the card is ready they can peel and stick them to the finger holders.  Each finger holder is 3 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide.  I cut slits from the edge to about halfway on opposite edges to make them work - one slit approximately 3/4" from one end along one edge - and then on the other end I cut several approximately 1/8" from each other along the opposite edge.  Then you just slip them together and slide your finger in the loop.

Too cute - and FUN!  Even my 8 year old son thought they were fun!  (thanks for finger modeling for me Logan!)

For this next card I wanted to have a more masculine feel and go for a Father's Day feel.  The perfect paper collection is Amberly Grace!  I stamped and colored the bunny with a tie with my Copic Markers.

Dad-card
Supplies: T3150 Spring Friends, T3002 Edge Designs, T3373 Noble Notes, Amberly Grace Collection - cardstock, hardware and pattern paper, Copic Markers,  Pop Dots, Scor-Buddy and Scor-Bug Embosser, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, VersaMark Ink, Clear Embossing Powder

I added a simple scribble background with BG10- to soften it a bit and ground my image.  No floating bunnies!  You can also see I added a little Glossy Accents to his eyes.

Bunny: E51, E53, E55, E57
Eyes: BG10, 0 (colorless blender)
Tie: W3, W7 BG72, BG75
Background: BG10
Ground: W3, W7

I wanted to make this card a little more elegant and masculine - so I embossed the greeting and the Edge Designs stamp along the edge of the card.  I also added it to the inside to for extra pop.  It really adds a punch and is so simple.

I could create so many more ideas with this stamp set - but time tells me I gotta wrap this up!  If I get a chance this week maybe you will see me in the blog hop with some more!  I hope you have been inspired - and have fun creating!  Thanks for checking me and all the guest designers out this month - the Blog Hops are so much fun I hope you get to join in or atleast check them all out!  And be sure to check out all the stamp sets on sale!

You can check out more of my paper creations on my blog at Oz-somestamps.

Happy Papercrafting!
