Going Green with Risa Alvarez

Happy St. Patrick's Day you stamp-y people!  Welcome to another day in The Angel Company's Going Green Celebration!  I am so excited to be making my first post here on the Savvy Projects Blog!  When Mischelle asked me to be a part of Going Green Week I was excited about the possibilities!  After thinking a bit about what I would like to do I settled on St. Patrick's Day.

Clover 75
The first card I have to share features Cheers to You T3300 and Date Disks T2867, Kaleidoscope Brites SWIC Papers (click here to see how you can get free stamps when you order this great pattern paper), Color Caboodles Cardstock Set C, Black Cardstock, Scor-Pal, Nestablities Classic Standard and Classic Scalloped Circles, PrismaColor Pencils blended with Mineral Oil, and lots Prisma Glitter.  Can you see the scored grid on the white cardstock?  Each of the open spaces is stamped with the clover stamp.  The grid adds detail and helps with positioning.  When I think 'Going Green' I think thrifty!  Date Disks is the perfect thrifty stamp set!  It makes all those little stamp images you already have do double duty.  You can use any little image together with the disk the same way I used the clover.  The set is also perfect for special dates.  Stamp a birthday or anniversary card with the special date or use Date Disks to tell the 'when' part of the story on your scrapbook pages!  Either way, Date Disks make perfect embellishments.

Green River
The next card and treat box feature Kaleidoscope Brites SWIC Papers (click here to see how you can get free stamps when you order this great pattern paper), Color Caboodles Cardstock Set C, Cheers to You T3300, Nestablities Classic Standard and Classic Scalloped Circles and Lables 3 Die Sets, Tropical Mini Brads, PrismaColor Pencils blended with Mineral Oil, Gray Tombow Marker, and lots Prisma Glitter.

Green River Close

Here is a close up shot. Can you see the glittery foam on the Diet Green River?  We don't drink (too much) at my house so this is no green beer.  However, St. Patty's Day would not be complete with out a tall cold glass of Diet Green River!  Do you like Green River too, or is it just a Chicago thing?  I lacquered my Tropical Mini Brads and glittered them too!

Mouse treat

The last little item I have for you is a treat.  Like I said before,I think Going Green means thrift.  See, thrift = less waste = more green in your pocket.  Here I used green M & M's in a tiny clam shell box from our GWP stamp sets.  I have a little tip for you that means more treats for less money.  Ready?  Buy extra Christmas M & M's.  Yup that's it!  I pick up an extra bag or two at the end of the holiday season.  I wait for a great sale or clearance and use a coupon.  Usually, in late November, you can find an M & M/Mars $1 off of 2 bags coupon in your Sunday paper.  Save that coupon for the day after Christmas sale and you have cheep but delicious red M & M's for Valentine's Day and green M & M's for St. Patrick's Day!  Trust me, I know all too well that they are just as yummy and fresh as the day I bought them!  I also used a free container that I got with a free TAC Gift With Purchase!  Save money while saving the planet!  Speaking of saving money, don't forget to check out TAC's 25% off sale!  During the Month of March all stamp sets with Four Legged Furry Friends and Flowers are on sale!  Now that is truely more GREEN!  Contact your Angel for more details.

Thank you for stopping by!  I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share with you!  You can find more of my stamped creations on my blog: www.memorypreserves.blogspot.com  I have a going green birthday card there for you to see today!  Come on by and don't forget to follow me or leave a comment so I know you made it over!
