Good Morning! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend and a fabulous Mother's Day! This week we have a brand new sketch to play with. Here is a link to all the great sketches by Heather, that we are using this whole month, just in case you would like to join in the fun yourself.

Normally I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of designer. Usually I color first then figure out the layout, and papers after the fact. But sometimes I am in a hurry, or just lacking creative mojo, and a sketch is the perfect place to start. A sketch can be used exactly as is, as in the card above. Or it can be changed up, by flipping it around or adding a different shape for your focal image or sentiment. Or, you can add an embellishment of some kind as in this next picture. I tend to always want to add just a little something more, ribbon, bling, flowers. Sometimes it has a positive effect, sometimes not so much!

In this case I think it worked out for the better. I like the little bit of stickles I added to the water, and for me the button kind of balanced things out and dressed it up a little bit.

I made a few cards using this sketch, each one different. I will be adding them to my blog, Artistic Detours, during this week if you would like to visit me there and see more. I also can't wait to see what my fellow Angels have created using this sketch. You can check back here each day this week to see too! We would love to see what your take on this sketch is, add a link to your creation below!
