Asparagus by Mischelle Smith
I was SUPER excited when I saw the challenge this week ... Summer Garden!  Immediately I thought of a couple sets I was dying to use and knew this challenge would be a perfect one to break them in.

This card came so close to hitting my trash pile ... but something about it ... I decided to see it through and other than a few mistakes ... I like it.

I purchased a set of watercolors for my daughter, Sophie, for Christmas and decided I'd use those. {Since they were in my studio space ... smiles}  My watercolor skills have gotten pretty rusty so I'm trying to get my bearings again.

I'm so STINKING HAPPY that I finally used this stamp set ... I LOVE it!

And ... that's a wrap!

  1. Wow! I don't think asparagus has ever looked this fabulous! And if this is you being "rusty" at watercoloring, my mind is blown to think of what your non-rusty watercoloring would look like! I'm glad, too, that you didn't give up on this card because it turned out so lovely. It's got subtle color and vibrancy all at once. My little toddler won't eat much, but she loves asparagus, so I particularly enjoyed your subject matter! You did a remarkable job on this and on the other beautiful produce pieces you created and I'm so glad you shared them with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
