100 Day Project:  Days 1 & 2

I first discovered the 100 Day Challenge on my FB Group ~ Vera Lane Studio.  Teresa, at The Fat Cactus, has been doing the 100 Day Challenge with a focus on VLS images and ATC's ... and it's  been SO INCREDIBLY INSPIRING watching her work!  I could hardly wait to start a 100 Day myself.
Cards stamped with prompts ... ready to go!
Since first hearing about the 100 Day Project it's been in my blood.  I've gone over lots of concepts and kept coming back to something that incorporates houses.  Yep.  Houses.  Go figure.  It took me awhile to narrow my scope but eventually I decided on 3x4 cards BECAUSE I can showcase them beautifully in my black and white striped album AND because the sheet protector holds four 3 x 4's per page.  Could it be any easier?! {smiles}
Some cards are designed for when I'm traveling.

To help insure my success I cut about 120  3x4 cards.  And then ... to even further secure success ... I stamped on some of them.  So ... I have TONS of supplies and I'm ready to go.  That's what it boiled down to.  So, I began my 100 Day Project YESTERDAY!  And I'm still bubbling over.

So far the hardest part is NOT coloring all of the cards NOW!  We'll see if I feel that way 100 days from now.
The stamp set that appears most on my cards is D1377 Around the Block from Close To My Heart.  I've been itching to use it and thought it would be a great starting point for this project.
Cute, right?!
For my Day 1 Card I added the clouds, vine, number and La-dee-da to the layout.  The La Dee Da! is from SU!, vine/leaf is from C1665 Season of Magic (CTMH) and number is from D1552 Magical Day (CTMH).  This was colored with my Copics and highlighted with my White Signo Gel Pen.
My Day 2 Card features a background I made with my Gelli Plate and then used a Micron Pen to tangle on it.  Side Note:  Some time ago I bought my daughter a stack of FABULOUS Zentangle books and I have now opened them up and started playing practicing myself.

So the background is tangled on.  I cut it down to size and then cut out a house from a card.  Well, it was kind of a house.  It had no door or window ... or anything in the middle ... so I added those.  I colored it with Copics, stamped my 2, added some washi tape and gems and TA DA!  Card 2 is done!  My image is popped up with foam tape to show off a bit of depth.  And ... I can't tell a lie ... I wanted to use a smallish size house because I LOVE how this background turned out on my tangled paper!  {smiles}

So there you have it.  Next time I post it will be all about Days 3-6 or even 7 perhaps.

God Bless and have a FABULOUS Thanksgiving!

  3. I love what you've done with this stamp set. I could never create things I like with it, so it went in my sale pile. I may have to see if one is still available and try again to work with it with your amazing inspiration! You work is stunning and inspiring.
