#233 Luxe Background Stripes with Imagine

Wednesday, February 01, 2017

Okay ... I LOVE this card and this technique!

Today is all about the stripes ... and the fun you can have with them!  On the Imagine BLOG I get to 'share the love' with a DARLING {Rose Themed} Valentine's Day card that features GORGEOUS pink stripes and a super quick how-to video ... check it out HERE.

Unfortunately, the world isn't all about PINK ... so ... I pulled out some of my other favorite colors to make this darling card.
This card comes together SUPER easy!
First, I reuse the Post It tape that I used for my pink card ... I'll use these pieces again and again ... until they no longer stick!  {smiles}

TIP:  If you can't find the 1/4" Post It Roll ... get the 1" and cut it down into 1/4's ... that's what I did with a craft knife and ruler.

Add your ink and let it dry.  Or heat set it if you can't wait that long!

Next, I added a couple spritz' of Bahama Blue Fireworks!  This is the secret to unifying this design and really bringing out the BOY in these colors.  Fireworks! is also filled with mica powder so you get GORGEOUS sheen, interest and grunge ... LOVE!

After the Fireworks! has dried ... peal off the Post It tape and you are ready to go!

First - I trimmed off 1/4" on the left side.  It wasn't enough so I trimmed off another 1/4" and attached the panel and one of the 1/4" stripes as shown.

Next, I pulled out my Blueprints Squares and diecut a square frame in the center of the panel.
Then ... I put the pieces back together again.  I kept the stripes in the middle of the frame going the same direction as the stripes on the background.

I rotated the frame until the stripes where sort of criss-crossing.  I also popped the center frame up with thin foam tape so it becomes a secondary focal point.

The tab on the right is super easy.  Ink up a white scrap with Pear Tart Memento Luxe and spritz with Bahama Blue Fireworks! ... easy!

Isn't this fun!  I enjoyed making these cards and definitely see more of these projects in my future!  PLEASE head over to Imagine and check out my card and 68 second video!  There are also more great ROSE colored cards featured today!
