#284 6 Zig Clean Color Marker Rainbows 6 Ways | Vera Lane Studio
Saturday, May 06, 2017
I LOVE my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers! It's been a bit since I've used them but knew I wanted to color some of these rainbows with them. You'd think I'm a huge rainbow fan ... honestly ... they are just super fun to color. Very relaxing. And zen.
My rainbows are all from Unicorn and Pegasus. Now available in the Vera Lane Studio Store. If you haven't joined the Vera Lane Studio Facebook Group you should ... there are some AWESOME makes with this set and more!
The saying I used is from Raven and Pixie. They are a FABULOUS set ... LOVE the cloud and scallop border in this collection!
I'm all about this color palette! It makes me super happy! I used Memento Dandelion ink with a sponge dauber to create the sun burst background. Super quick and easy.
A touch of yellow and white twine and I called it good.
This card was inspired by the cardmakers on Vera Lane's FB Group. So many are designing with 2 colors in each section. So instead of 4 colors ~ they have 8.
This card was actually the first I created in this batch. I went traditional with the layout and chose not to fussy cut the image. A pair of scissors was used to fray the edges of each piece.
This card is nice in person. The colors work great together.
Can you tell I like that 'splotchy' watercolor look? I do. My white Posca marker made a small appearance on this card.
This card was an experiment. I wanted to give the background/cardfront layer a wash. I'm obsessed with trying new things.
I used Liquid Glass on the stars, to outline the rainbow and clouds and to highlight the sentiment.
This card is a keeper! So simple ... so easy on the eyes ... so zen! I used an embossing die by We R Memory Keepers for the cardfront layer.
I really like the yellow and white twine tied around the rainbow. Super simple and pleasing to the eye.
This is one of my favorites! I know ... I ALWAYS use that palette! LOL!
This card. LOL! The rainbow was in my reject pile (which is huge right now) so I thought I'd pull this rainbow and doodle on it. That was all I needed to do to fall in love with it!
This is such a happy and playful card! I used a saying from a Tim Holtz saying book, added some sequins and bitty bling ...
Do you have a favorite? Let me know in the comments. I would LOVE to know which card you gravitate towards.
So there you go. 6 Zig Clean Color Marker Rainbows 6 ways. Now I think it's time to move on to the next project. It might be a cover for my next mixed media journal ... since mine is almost full.
Have a BLESSED and beautiful weekend,
Mischelle

My 8 colors were pretty distinct until I added Liquid Glass and prisma glitter. The Liquid Glass made the colors run together a bit AND it changed some of the colors! I forgot that Zig Clean Colors DO change their appearance when a Liquid Glass/Glossy Accents product is added. Since this is a rainbow ... it happened to be okay. Right?!
Each of the cards I'm featuring today are all done on watercolor paper. They are card fronts attached to a card base. This card was actually the first I created in this batch. I went traditional with the layout and chose not to fussy cut the image. A pair of scissors was used to fray the edges of each piece.

My white Posca marker makes for a great doodler!
This shot shows the clear coated chevron on the yellow piece that backs the rainbow. You can also see that I used Sheer Shimmer Spritz to finish this card ... and a bit of yellow & white twine!Do you have a favorite? Let me know in the comments.
