#349 Faith Journal & Flashcards featuring Vera Lane Studio

Friday, March 01, 2019

I decided it was time to add some color and life to my 'regular, more normalish' faith journal {smiles} and I'm so glad I did!
I knew the star of this layout would be Adorabelle ... my favorite little gal in the Filles de la mode collection by Vera Lane Studio.  (She has the most PERFECT name!)
I found this journal on the clearance aisle at Walmart for around 4ish dollars ... BIG SIGH ... I had to put it in my cart.  (I'm glad I did!)

This is the first page in the journal and I had written the C.S. Lewis quote long before I added the color and Adorabelle.  Lucky for me ... the pen I used did not bleed when I started adding inks and water.

For my layout, I used my Distress Oxide Inks with the Tim Holtz Distress Spritzer.  Yes ... I LOVE Tim's spritzer ... it really is a must have!
Adorabelle's face is colored with Copics and the rest of her is done with Oxide inks.  I used Oxcide Ink with stencils and a rubber stamp to complete her look.

I'm looking forward to creating more of these pages as I am smitten with the result!
Then I added my 2nd card to my Faith Journal Flashcards and she is a COLORFUL little thing!
Sit and Think debuted this week at Vera Lane Studio and she is a fun little gal.  I've colored several images of her but only this one has made it to completion.   She is colored with Copics and then I added a touch of color with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I was NOT loving her at all ... so pulled out a new white Posca marker and started doodling.  I figured if I was going to throw her away it was okay to practice doodling first.  I let her sit overnight and when I came back the next day ... I decided she wasn't as bad as I had originally thought.

The background is a Gelli print with some doodling.
I want my Flashcards to be bright, colorful and energetic so I pulled yellow cardstock ... just to keep things happy.  I have to say ... I kind of like the finished card after all.  I'm excited to keep growing this little collection.

Thanks for stopping by ... have a BLESSED weekend!
