I LOVE primitives ... strange, peculiar, curious ... even bizarre.
Wonderful little works of art that inspire and delight.

Eccentric, dark and some may even say strange... I embrace the oddness of it all.

... if you look closely ...
... beauty and inspiration ...
... are sure to be found ...

Where do your inspiration pieces take you?  Do they transport you to another time?  Another place?
Do they take you outside of your comfort zone and beg you to
explore new and different ideas and techniques?

Using these images as my muses ... I felt free to explore, create and delight
in my own peculiar eclectiveness.  This breathes life into me ...

This project features my go-to stamp set ... which is also the current Stamp of the Month.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this set!  It is perfect not only for Halloween but for any occasion ... LOVE!

I am one of the luckiest people I know ... my office is in a LIBRARY!
And  guess what ... libraries get rid of books from time to time ... YESSSSS!
So of course I've grabbed some of these FABULOUS books ...
based solely on what they look like!
This little dream will be getting holes punched along the bookbinding side ...
rings added ... pages added ... it will become a delicious little book with
Artsy Fabulous creations!

If you know me ... you know that I am a HUGE paper hoarder!
I have a VERY hard time using my designer papers ... I'd rather adore them stacked
nicely on my shelf!  {smiles}
So it's no surprise that I LOVE to collect the small tablets
of 6x6 papers from Hobby Lobby ... when they are 1/2 price!  LOL!
I've had this concept in my head for some time and FINALLY ... a stamp set that called!

I also used the new Hats Off Hostess Set ... perfect for this design!
I simply used VersaMark to ink up my images and then embossed them with clear powder.

OH NO!  I had already adhered the legs when I realized I wanted to put Gold Shimmer Trim
behind them ... so I found an interesting solution!

I used my CTMH ink pads with sponge daubers to ink up all of the edges.
TIP:  Something not popping?  Add ink!  I added Glacier to the wings of the owl to make them more substantial and visually appealing.

Have you noticed that I've stamped, and even embossed, directly on the book?!If you think it ... do it!
TIP:  Mix colors and shades.  I LOVE that not all of my GOLDS are matchy matchy.
These unique colors adds to the overall interest of this piece.

Born to Roam is another stamp set that I LOVE!
Hipster chic.
And who wouldn't put antlers on an owl?
TIP:  I stamped the antlers with VersaMark ink and embossed with clear powder.
Next I cut them out and inked the edges with my sponge dauber.
Then I used our Broad Tip Glue Pen to adhere them securely to the book.

TIP:  It's easy to widen your Washi Tape.  Just match up the design ...
much like matching up wallpaper ... and stick.  Easy peasy.

The only thing that makes me sad about this Stamp of the Month .... it's only available in August!
