Sunshine by Mischelle Smith

So what's a girl to do when she's got pink EYES {yes, plural} and is stuck wearing glasses circa the early 1990's {because she can't wear her contacts}?  Well, a pink EYES RX is a must ... and then depression follows because she is on her vacation and just wanted to be in her studio ... selfishly stamping away ... ugh!

Time to snap myself out of this pink EYES depression!  I went in my studio and looked for a stamp set to use.  I went thru every set and nothing was speaking to me.  You know how it is ... you have everything ... but nothing.  OMGosh, girl, snap OUT OF IT!  That's when I told myself I needed to find a super happy stamp set, my favorite {super happy} paper pad, put on some super happy tunes and be FREAKING super happy doing it.

So, that's what I did.  And lucky for me ... I could wear my reading glasses over my glasses {6 eyes ... that was a new one}.  I pulled up Mojo Monday and Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge Blog ... and committed to the challenges.  And, they truly were hard for me this week.  That Mojo sketch was a challenge for my tiny brain to wrap around ... and I'd never done a Tic Tac Toe ... but ... I did it!  And I sang my heart out while doing it.

Today, I still have pink EYES but I feel a little happier that at least I made something ... and it made me smile!

My Cup Runneth Over,
Mischelle

Stamps:  Sunshine Birdies and Balloon Talk by Close To My Heart
Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento
Copics:  Y13, 15 and 17; R81 and 85; RV34; Y00; YG03, and 25; E33 and 35; R22, 24 and 27
Paper:  K&Company Sweet Nectar Paper Pad
Other:  Black Micron Pen,  White Watercolor Paint Spatter

CHALLENGES:
Simon Says Stamp Tic Tac Toe Challenge: I did STAMP,  Cardboard and Washi.  The cardboard is under the green flagged banner that 'sunshine' sits on.  I layered the green paper on it and cut it to size.  My washi tape is the green right under that.

Mojo Monday:  This is my interpretation of Monday's sketch.  {this sketch challenged me to really work outside my box ... go figure}

Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes:  It works!

  6. Mischelle! I have to say that I always enjoy your art and your writing equally! Your post cracked me up (except for the fact that you had pink eyes, of course), but I loved your positive attitude and how you went forward with multiple pairs of glasses to accomplish the impossible! And wow! What an incredible card emerged! I adore the bright palette and this is bursting with your trademark happy personality! Love how you brought your birds to life with the "Hey There" speech bubble. So clever! And we were so similar because I, too, used the cardboard/washi/stamping combo and it was the first time I'd ever done a Tic Tac Toe challenge, too! It was tough, but we did it! And this just goes to show that not even double-pink-eye can stop your creative genius! You go, girl, and thanks for sharing your awesome skills with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
