#205 Watercolor Just Because Card

I saw a video online today by Heather Telford {CLICK HERE} and immediately fell in LOVE! You can also check out her blog {CLICK HERE} for a look at some really, amazing artwork!

Anyway ... I couldn't wait to finally get home so I could try this technique.  I, however, wanted to do a beach scene ... God bless me for trying!  {smiles}  So this is my 2nd attempt at this new-to-me watercoloring technique.  The 1st attempt is in the trash ... and the more I look at this the more I see things that I need to fix ... UGH!  You know the feeling.
In addition to trying a completely new-to-me technique I also decided to prep my watercolor paper in a new-to-me fashion.  After I had taped down my watercolor paper I decided to spritz it {more like a hurricane} with my homemade Perfect Pearls solution.  You know the one ... you buy a small water spritzer and mix water with Perfect Pearls powder ... that's what I did.  And that's how this card started.  Then I just tried to paint, and stamp, and repeat the process.

One of my FAVORITE parts of this card was stamping the greeting with my HOT~ out of the box StampOHolic!  OMGosh!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

So ... there you go.  This card is TONS better than my first but I'm still not in love. {NOT WITH THIS CARD ... just the technique!}  I do LOVE, however, the pearly sheen on the entire card.  I just noticed it while typing and it is GORGEOUS!  I'll shoot that on my next card I try.

And my favorite part of the photo shoot was coming back in the house and watching my sunshine play with her sheep ...

My Stella.  Age 6.  American Bulldog
So .... that's a wrap!  And also a sneak peak at a stamp {the sand dollar} in a new CTMH set that debuts August 1st.
Happy Papercrafting,
Mischelle
