#249 Les Chats Join the Cast of My Rainbow Journal Series

Thursday, March 09, 2017

I was channeling a bit of Laurel Burch when I created this 2-page layout.  I am LOVING the play of gray tones vs. color so the rainbow continues!
When I started this series I thought the gray tones would be pretty tricky to work with ... well ... turns out the gray tones are easy!
What can be challenging is working with a rainbow of color and trying to make sure that those colors are distributed around the piece in a somewhat pleasing way.  I know ... it's so hard to be an artist ... {she types giggling} LOL!
Seriously though ... isn't it kind of cool looking at the world both ways?!  I do have to admit that it was easier to look at the rainbow page BEFORE I went Signo White Gel Pen dot crazy!  But, I'm okay with that.  I LOVE the doodled look!
Because Les Chats are a Vera Lane Studio digi stamp set ... it was easy to create this layout on my computer.

I just duplicated the images and then flipped four images horizontally and worked with EIGHT Les Chats instead of four.  And then you'll use your 'arrange' button quite a bit to bring images forward as well as send images back.

Originally, I was planning on making cards with this layout ... and ALL in color.  That's where the strange-ish size comes from.  And then ... I changed my mind.  It would be LOTS of work and I wanted to keep it ... so it graduated to journal spread!  {smiles}
After a bit of searching I found a quote that I liked and printed it out.  Of course ... I LOVE adding the post # and date to every project.  That's my time stamp.  And sometimes I add notes that reflect  where my thoughts were on that particular day.

I'm having a BLAST creating my 'rainbow' series ... who knows what will pop up next!  If you're looking for more inspiration and/or a super fun group of gals to play along with ... check out Vera Lane!  There is AMAZING talent in this fabulous group!
Thanks for stopping by!

  2. To say this is amazing is an understatement. The gray tones vs the rainbow colors is the perfect artistic illustration of the sentiment. I love the addition of the signo pen, as well. Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
