#298 Vertigo Bookmarks | Imagine Crafts

Saturday, June 10, 2017

Today I'm excited to be sharing the Imagine Crafts stage with the most incredible artist ... Kyriakos Pachadiroglou!  Kyriakos and I both turned out summertime bookmarks for one of our challenges ... and we both picked Vertigo for our craft surfaces.

I like to think that I'm giving you a great, no-fuss, bookmark that would be great to make with kids.  And then ... Kyriakos rolls out the Cadillac!

Seaside Themed Bookmarks by Kyriakos Pachadiroglou

I absolutely LOVE how Kyriakos transformed this project!  His embossed images pop right off the Vertigo ... GORGEOUS!  And the charms are the perfect finishing touch.  It's those little details .... right!  I want to break out more Vertigo and recreate Kyriakos' upscale bookmarks for myself!  {I'm so inspired by his creations ... as well as the other Imagine Artists!}

Here are the front and back of my bookmarks ... so you can see how the ink sets on the Vertigo.  I GENTLY heat set each layer of ink before adding a new layer.  If I didn't do this all of the ink mottled together into one color.
To color ALL of my bookmarks I did a quick and easy 'direct to paper' technique.  It just means I used the ink pad as my applicator.  As I layered on my color the Vertigo became a bit cloudy on the application side.  On the other side ... it was all 3D.
If you create with kids ... you know they ALWAYS want to make something special to share with mom & dad.  This would certainly be a fun and easy project for that!
Vertigo is a FUN canvas to play with .... and it's even more fun to play with after it's been made into something special.  Give it a whirl!

Swing by the Imagine Crafts blog for all of the details and supply lists ... and check out the Imagine Crafts Shop.  There you can see the different designs Vertigo comes in.

xoxo,
Mischelle
