#306 Scrap Box Wraps | Vera Lane Studio

Today I'm sharing projects that have been in my scrap boxes, yes, boxes.  {currently I have 9 scrap boxes}  Each of these projects was close to completion ... so ... I made myself finish these!
This first card features Hayes and Carlos ~ part of the Dark Corner Collection from Vera Lane Studio.
What started out as a spinner card immediately went wrong when instead of scoring a folding line ... I cut.  Yep.  I cut the back flap right off the card.  I was so frustrated with myself that I tossed it all into a scrap box.
I had front and back pieces and needed to figure out a way to marry them back together.  That's where the star paper and washi tape came in handy.  I just needed that little lip of paper to connect the two pieces.
I wouldn't have used all of the washi tape that I did but ... the raw edge was not pretty.  So I tried to disguise it ... it's rough still.  So ... now I'm actually thinking all change out the washi tape to one with all the same tone and pattern.  What I've used here may need an upgrade.
What saves me is that your eye is all over Hayes and spinning him.  He's so stinking cute!  He is colored the same front and back.  Before printing this digi image I copied and mirrored the image so I had 2 of him that lined up perfectly back-to-back.
This card just needed a simple fix to complete.  A black pen and some doodles around the oval.  Everything else was already complete.
Les Chats is one of my favorite VLS sets.  I LOVE these funky and whimsical little loves.  The saying I used is from a CTMH set.
The Liquid Glass was already on this darling little cat ... he just needed grounding.
The oval is a piece from one of my very first Gelli Arts plate prints ... I LOVE that thing!  {smiles}
All of my coloring was already done on this card ... it just needed finishing touches.  The gemstones match perfectly (the photo doesn't read that but they do).  I remembered these little jewels were in an envelope from Vicki G ... goodies she sent me in an ATC swap.  I was so thankful!
Hello June is one of those gals that just makes me happy!  And those cupcake flowers!  Right?!  I've also used June for a spinner card ... she is PERFECT for that!  Do you remember that card? {smiles}
This spinner card was part of a post about Kid Cards ... check it out HERE.  I also used Backyard Monsters in that post.
I added a saying and silver metallic thread.  All of the coloring is done in Copics ... even the blue background on the card.  I had also already highlighted everything with white so the hard work was done.  I have to say ... final assembly has NEVER been my favorite part of card making.  Go figure!  I LOVE the coloring and the finished project more than anything.

So there you go ... 3 cards that were in a scrap box waiting for a second chance at life.  I'm so excited I can now move them on to a new box!  LOL!  I encourage you to pull out one of your scrap boxes and give something in there a new life!

  1. Love that you showed the card you tossed. I have made a lot of mistakes and I too toss them in a box. Your card turned out beautifully x
