#275 Colorful & Inspirational Bracelets | Imagine Crafts

Monday, April 24, 2017

It's my day on the Imagine Blog and today I'm sharing hand-made bracelets!  Check out the Imagine Blog for complete details and supplies.
I LOVE how these turned out and best of all ... making them is FUN and EASY!
These bracelets feature DCWV Fairytale papers and stickers from Webster's Pages Painted Passport Sticker Collection.
After LOTS of trial and error ... I discovered that Fabrico markers are the key to this FABULOUS project! But, let's start at the beginning ...
It all starts with jumbo craft sticks in boiling water.
Pull the sticks from the water and get into cups to start shaping.  Bracelets need at least 12 hours to dry before you start embellishing and decorating them.
I LOVE it when they come out of the cups.  Not all bracelets will have a 'perfect' shape.  Sometimes the wood grain competes with the bend.
How FABULOUS is this Truffle Fabrico on the bracelet?!  I LOVE it!
You can see some of the different shapes I got with this batch.
These bracelets will easily fall off your wrist without the cord added.  I punch the holes BEFORE coloring.  Some of the bracelets will crack during this step so expect some loss!  A good rule of thumb would be to make double the amount you need as you'll lose half in the process.
Paint and wet materials DO NOT do well.  I painted New Sprout Fireworks! directly on the above bracelet and it immediately lost its shape.  I tried to re-form the bracelet but it wouldn't go back to the nice round shape it was.

When adding Fireworks! make sure you coat the bracelet with gesso first.  A light coat!  And then sparingly paint on Fireworks!

Remember ... Fabrico markers really are the best medium for applying color!
I finished the bracelets with twine and 2-3 coats of Modpodge to seal.  You can also use clear gesso and/or clear gel medium.
I wanted to play with Gold Creative Medium and added it to the bracelet using a stencil.
Let the medium dry.
After medium has dried use your Fabrico markers to color.  Seal to protect.
Fabrico Markers come in a variety of GORGEOUS colors so try them all out!
I had fun doodling on this bracelet.  I applied white gesso to the naked bracelet and then used my Fabrico Markers to add my design.  This was super FUN to make!

These bracelets would be great for affirmations, quotes, scripture, names, sorority's ...  everything!

xoxo,
Mischelle
